“St Paraskeve” Pilgrimage Centre, part of the Metropolitanate of Moldavia and Bucovina, is a modern means of promoting spirituality and culture in the local and international ecumenical context. Through its activity, people of all cultures and religious orientations are encouraged to discover, become familiar with, and appreciate religious, artistic and historic monuments in Romania (especially in Moldavia and Bucovina), to highlight the significance of the local centuries-old Christian Orthodox life and of European Christianity.
What we offer
• In order to present Romanian history, art, faith and natural beauty, we organise pilgrimages for Romanian and foreign pilgrims to various regions of particular interest in Romania, such as Iasi, Neamt, Bucovina, Maramures, Dobrogea, Oltenia, Trasilvania etc.
• We contribute to ecumenical exchanges by organizing pilgrimages in Romania for people of other confessions, especially from Western Europe . Our programmes reveal the missionary quality of pilgrimage against the background of ecumenical dialogue. Foreign pilgrims are encouraged to discover the peculiarity of the Orthodox faith, an integral part of the Romanian spirit.
• In the current context of ecumenical dialogue, it is important to become familiar with Western spirituality and cultures, famous religious sites, and the evidence of early Christian life in Western Europe; this we facilitate through pilgrimages abroad in European countries such as Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Hungaria, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey or England.
• Tours or trips in Iasi and to the monasteries around the city.
• Excursions, expeditions and research camps , with various themes.
